Rates & Insurance
Rates
I have an income-based sliding fee scale. In terms of the number of sessions needed, I usually meet with families for an average of 4-6 sessions. This tends to be enough time to set up an effective parenting system that includes a reward system for inspiring your child to do the right thing, and meaningful disciplinary consequences that will make your child try to avoid doing the “wrong thing”. If your child lacks critical skills he or she needs in order to make better choices, we might spend a few sessions working on teaching those skills. Those skills training sessions range from an additional 1-5 sessions, depending on how many skills you identify your child as needing. For those individuals who are grappling with OCD, the number of sessions that we need will depend on how entrenched your OCD compulsions are, and how much time and energy you are able to devote to doing Exposure and Response Prevention exercises between sessions.
Insurance
I do not accept any insurances, but I do provide a receipt marked “Paid” that includes all of the necessary codes for you to submit for reimbursement. Behavior therapy, which is usually in the form of family therapy when the child is the client, is generally a reimbursable mental health service.
Reduced Fee
To ensure that my services are accessible to as many families as possible, I do offer an income-based sliding fee scale. Please do not hesitate to ask for an application if you feel you might qualify.
Payment
Nearly all of my clients prefer to pay by credit card. When we set up our first appointment, I will send you some intake forms to complete via my HIPAA compliant and completely confidential client portal. You can put in your credit card information there without worry about its security. I will then charge your credit card after each session and send you a receipt marked “PAID”. This receipt will include all of the codes necessary for you to submit the invoice to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Cancellation Policy
I completely understand when sessions need to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances! However, if you double-book yourself or just plain forget, it is my policy to charge you the full session fee.
Contact
Questions? Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions at all! The best way to reach me is via e-mail. Honestly, I rarely check my phone messages and I do not tend to answer the phone unless I know who is calling. I am happy to schedule a phone chat to talk about your child specifically – just send me an email to set that up.
